10 companies are already candidates to the Lean & Green label in Wallonia
After the announcement of the Lean & Green program, 10 companies rely on Logistics in Wallonia and mobilize to face the challenge of the environmental impact of their logistics activities. Accompanied by the cluster, these companies will reduce their CO2 emissions by 20% in 5 years while optimizing their performance.
Lean & Green is primarily a label. It welcomes the proactive companies in protecting the environment and is becoming an essential European recognition.
Initiated in our Dutch neighbours, the Lean & Green phenomenon now concerns more than 350 companies in the Netherlands, Italy, Belgium and Germany. This is a real community of companies that has developed around a common goal.
By identifying the sources of CO2 in their supply chain, the Lean & Green candidates aim at optimizing their transportation as well as improving storage conditions for their goods. Therefore, the label concerns all sectors.
Companies give a strong signal to the transport and logistics sector
For several months, Logistics in Wallonia proposes the Lean & Green project to its network members. Today, the project happens and the regional cluster is preparing to launch the program. « After a long process of information, we are pleased to notice that there is a real awareness on the part of businesses. It is also a strong signal that is given by the 10 participating companies. By investing so in the Lean & Green program, they pose both a civic act and an industrial action », explains Bernard Piette, Manager of Logistics in Wallonia.
