Mission for Growth in Wallonia, February 2014
A Mission for Growth, led by Vice-President Antonio Tajani, will be organised in Wallonia, Belgium, on February 18 and 19, 2014.
Wallonia is strategically located between Germanic, Romance and Anglo-Saxon regions. It has outstanding infrastructures in terms of transport links, including European road and rail networks. Paris, Cologne, Frankfurt and Amsterdam are less than 300 km away. In addition, several waterways connect Wallonia to the main seaports in the area, such as Antwerp, Zeebrugge, Amsterdam and Dunkirk. The region also has two international airports (Liège and Charleroi) for freight and passenger transport. The Walloon leading innovative industries are grouped in clusters (click here for further information).
This mission targets the following industry sectors, corresponding to the main regional clusters:
- Transport and Logistics
- Spatial and Aerospace
- Mechanical engineering industries
- Biotech / pharmaceuticals / life sciences
- Cultural and Creative industries (Wallonia has been recently labeled European Creative District)
The Mission aims at connecting Walloon SMEs to European companies active in the same or complementary sectors by participating in networking and B2B events. It will take place in the town of la Louvière (more information here).
Additionally to the B2B which will take place on Tuesday, February 18 (pm), in order to allow foreign companies and associated EEN partners to discover Wallonia activities in the targeted sectors, dedicated thematic visits will be organized on Wednesday, February 19 (am).
Interested companies should register both for the mission and for the B2B event by Friday, January 31st.
The agenda and the links to the DG Enterprise & Industry website (for the event registration) and to the b2Match website (for the match-making event) will be published ASAP in January. For more information, please contact your local Enterprise Europe Network branch.
