Regional mobility strategy for goods: SRM/M

The SRM call for projects, designed to stimulate innovation in the field of transport and logistics, is open to all Walloon players, including commercial companies (SA, SRL, SC, etc.), non-profit associations (ASBL), academic institutions such as universities and colleges, accredited research centers and training organizations.

Projects submitted must address at least one of the following eight themes: circular logistics, systems interoperability and security, data analysis and intelligence, sustainability in logistics and transport, urban logistics, transport efficiency and safety, multimodality of travel chains, and availability of infrastructure to serve users.

A minimum collaboration between two partners within a consortium is required, with the mandatory participation of at least one Walloon SME for feasibility studies or tests of innovative solutions.

Funding is reserved for partners with an active physical presence in Wallonia, via a head office or operating facility.

Full project description in PDF format to include the following:

  • Context and issues in relation to SRM/M (max 2 pages);
  • An action plan with (max 12 pages):
    1. Project description: deliverables and links with tasks
    2. Objective(s) to be achieved
    3. Originality of the project
    4. Tasks to be carried out
    5. Roadmap (implementation stages) and risk management
  • Impact sought (particularly economic and environmental) and results expected (qualitative and quantitative, max 4 pages);
  • Provisional budget (total project amount excluding VAT and detailed costs per task, max 2 pages).

Appendices:

  1. Any evidence demonstrating that the applicant has the capacity to finance the part of the project not subsidized by the Region;
  2. If possible, photos illustrating your project;
  3. All information related to the selection criteria;
  4. The consortium agreement signed between the various partners;
  5. If applicable, the declaration of honour relating to conflicts of interest, appended to these guidelines;
  6. The declaration of honour relating to state aid and de minimis aid, appended to these guidelines.

Relevance of the project (weighted at 40%)

  • Suitability of the project with the objectives of the call for projects
  • Innovative nature of the project
  • Contribution to the environmental objectives of the SRM/M
  • Suitability of the proposed partnership

Technical feasibility (weighted at 30%)

  • Suitability of mobilised resources in relation to objectives
  • Suitability of implementation budget
  • Suitability of implementation schedule
  • Identification of risks during implementation and proposed solutions

Economic viability (weighted at 30%)

  • Sustainability of the project after the call for projects
  • Replicability of the project
  • Creation of long-term economic value, employment and environmental impact

Application files will be analyzed by the “Preparing for the Future” WG Governance Committee, which will propose this selection decision to the Minister, who will rule on it. This governance committee will be made up of representatives from the following categories, for a total of 12 people:
