Any independent player or SME based in Wallonia who registers or commits to switching their activities to a short circuit approach ()
By short circuit, we mean: “The mode of production and marketing that aims to bring the producer closer to the consumer, for all sectors combined. On the one hand, this means reducing the number of intermediaries to ensure a fair income for producers practicing peasant agriculture, and a fair price for consumers. The proximity of relationships induced by short distribution channels reinforces the transparency of the supply chain, enhances the know-how of producers, improves the quality of products and services, and creates bonds of trust between producers and consumers in a given region, particularly in terms of quality. Short distribution channels also imply geographical proximity between all players, which reduces the impact of transport and contributes to a healthy environment. Depending on the sector, short-distance distribution can be envisaged over varying distances, but these distances are always kept as short as possible. The short-distance distribution model has its own distinctive features. Short-distance distribution contributes to a more endogenous and, by extension, more resilient economy. It takes into account the objective of improving quality of life and well-being in Wallonia, drawing on the environmental context to create economic opportunities. The short circuit is therefore in line with employment-environment alliances and, more broadly, sustainable development.”
The amount of the diagnosis is considered state aid under the European “de minimis” regulation.
