CYRUS: a solution to the cyber vulnerability of critical systems

THE PROJECT:
The evolution of industrial systems toward embedded systems and predominantly connected objects makes them increasingly vulnerable to cyberattacks.
This applies to all sectors of activity:
- INDUSTRY 4.0
- RAIL
- AUTOMOTIVE
- ENERGY
- CRITICAL WATER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEMS
- SUPPLY CHAIN 4.0
- ETC.
In today’s context, companies face growing demands from their clients in terms of connectivity and operational safety. Moreover, within a unified European digital market vision, Europe is introducing new directives that make certification for protection against cyberattacks mandatory.
Companies must be able to defend themselves against various cybersecurity risks.
CYRUS is an industrial research project whose objective is to meet this need by developing a cybersecurity testing platform for cyber-physical systems. Industries will be able to test the resistance of their solutions to cyberattacks, thereby anticipating future regulatory frameworks in Europe.
The goal is to make this platform accessible to all business sectors without requiring specific cybersecurity expertise.
CYRUS is the first phase of an ambitious Walloon project: the creation of an independent testing laboratory dedicated to cyber-physical systems, capable of certifying companies according to cybersecurity standards.
