Digitrans: Life cycle cost reduction and real-life site testing

THE PROJECT:
For an infrastructure manager and a railway operator, safety remains the top priority. Once safety is ensured, the focus shifts to optimizing the cost, reliability, and availability of installations.
Digitrans is a project that will enable infrastructure managers to reduce the life cycle cost of safety equipment: maintenance, installation, and overall system operation costs.
The innovative nature of Digitrans lies in the choice of technologies proposed to achieve these goals:
- Distributed architecture of connected objects
- Use of cables for multiple functions: data transfer and equipment power supply
- Remote control: remote management of the evolution of critical systems (software updates, etc.)
The Digitrans project also includes a full-scale trial on a railway site.
These tests will help validate the benefits of the Digitrans solutions.
