THE PROJECT:

TrainSim.Net is a research and development project led by Transurb, whose core business is train driver training.
The goal was to create a training tool that is more accessible and less expensive than traditional simulation cabins.

This temporary partnership is known as TrainLab.
This simulation software is accessible online from any computer or tablet, significantly reducing costs. In addition to being multiplatform, it is also multi-sector. It can be adapted to suit client needs in rail, aeronautics, maritime, energy, industry, steelmaking, etc.

Following this, thanks to the R&D work of TrainSim.Net, Transurb continued its research through a new R&D project: the TrackGen project (submitted in the 33rd call for projects by the Pôle Logistics in Wallonia).

For each rail simulator, it is necessary to create a 3D environment corresponding to reality.
Until now, this environment was created manually — i.e., by filming the train route. TrackGen proposes an automation of the creation process by gathering all accessible environmental data.
